Our Experience

We are proud to have been pioneers in launching the know-how in the geological-mining consultancy sector in Mozambique and from Mozambique.

At the National Directorate of Geology of Mozambique, one can find a variety of works relating to the field, as well as technical reports of work done by Gondwana. All of these documents are available to the public.

As Gondwana, we have a vast and in-depth knowledge of the Mozambican territory and its geology. Our senior staff have accumulated dozens of years of experience in mining and geological activity in Mozambique and Africa. The experience accumulated by our partners, associate senior advisors and our main external consultants, is what makes us one of the greatest assets of the field in Mozambique.

Gondwana was involved in a Mozambican Government program, under the aegis of the World Bank, for the geological mapping of the country at a scale of 1: 250,000; forming part of an international consortium led by the Finnish geological services (GTK).

We, at Gondwana, have a large database of information relevant to Mozambique, including geological maps and reports, geochemical data, topographic maps, company research reports, mineral and geological compilations, reports from government agencies and international agencies, socio-economic reports, legal regimes and fiscal information, etc. Some of this information has never been published.

Cumulatively, as aforementioned, Gondwana has been involved with VALE Moçambique in coal research in Moatize since the beginning, and in addition to taking part of numerous mineral research projects spread throughout the country, we also carried out all the geological mapping of the areas Licensed to Riversdale.
